An Espn Chicago Golf Event We Used to Raise Money for A Legal Organization

One of the biggest events that we take part in every summer features one our prominant sports partners in Chicagoland.

But as we do at Ankin Law, we like to make things about helping others even when having a little fun.

Once again, we took part in ESPN Chicago’s “Grip It And Sip It” golf event at Seven Bridges Golf Club in Woodridge on June 11.

We were the sponsor of the “Closest To The Pin” contest on the third hole as competitors tried to best each other’s top shot. Joining them was Attorney Chris Garrett, who did a little golfing of his own throughout the course of the warm and windy day.

Yet our efforts weren’t just about a few nice hours on the course but also to help raise money for an organization we’ve helped over the years. That’s Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, who provide legal services to low-income families in the area for free.

Brian Sherwood was the winner of the “Closest To The Pin” competition, and a $1,000 donation was presented to the organization in his name.

We’ve also supported CVLS through Race Judicata for nearly two decades, including the 2024 event.

You can see more on the 2025 “Grip It And Sip It” in the video.
