See our Final Ankin Law & WGN Teacher of the Month this School Year

For a second-straight year, Ankin Law had the chance to salute a retiring educator with a major honor in Chicagoland.

The personal injury law firm joined with WGN-TV to give the May 2026 Teacher of the Month Award to Ms. Michele Logar of Mount Prospect School District 57’s Fairview Elementary School.

Nominated by former student Liam Miller, the second grade teacher gets the honor as she completes her 41stand final year of teaching.

Ankin Law social media manager Larry Hawley was at Fairview Elementary School to present a $1,000 donation to Logar that will be used at the school as she sees fit.

Logar is the ninth and final educator in Chicagoland to be given the Teacher of the Month Award during the 2025-2026 academic year. Ankin Law has been around the area giving donations to worthy students and schools since the fall.
