Belvidere, IL (March 8, 2026) – One person was injured after an apartment fire on Saturday, March 7, in the 500 block of Beloit Road in Belvidere.

Emergency units responded shortly after 10 p.m. following reports that a fire had broken out in an apartment building and that a resident was trapped inside. When crews arrived, flames were visible coming from the building’s second floor.
Responders first worked from outside the structure to control the flames before entering the building. During a search of the apartment, crews found one resident and safely removed the person from the home.
Paramedics evaluated the occupant at the scene before taking the resident to a nearby hospital for additional treatment. Officials have not released details about the person’s condition.
No other injuries were reported in connection with the incident. Authorities also confirmed that the fire was brought under control shortly after crews entered the building.
Officials reported that more than two dozen firefighters and several engines responded to assist with the emergency response. Their efforts focused on containing the flames and securing the building.
