How This Chicago’s Curiosity About the Law Led to A Career at Ankin Law

Some people get into the law because it’s something they’ve always wanted to do.

But sometimes it’s just a curiosity in the profession that brings people to work at Ankin Law, as was the case for one of our Workers’ Compensation legal assistants.

Jocelyn Perez grew up in Chicagoland and graduated from Dominican University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, with an eye on possibly pursuing a career in law. That entry came through our firm, with which she was familiar thanks to our advertisements in the area, as she was hired as a receptionist in June 2023.

That curiosity has continued to grow over the last two years as Jocelyn has moved up to a legal assistant in our Workers’ Compensation department. She’s helping clients who need assistance daily, working with Attorney Phil Risley to make that happen.

Jocelyn continues to do this while also working on her graduate degree at Southern Illinois University.

We’re pleased to feature Jocelyn in the latest edition of “Spotlight” from Ankin Law, where we feature employees in different departments in our firm.
