Carpentersville, IL (October 28, 2025) – One person died, and two others were injured following a two-car crash early Sunday morning, October 26, on Route 31 near Gentle Breeze Terrace in Carpentersville.

Police and firefighters arrived at the scene around 3:45 a.m. to find people trapped inside both vehicles. Emergency crews worked to free the victims before transporting the injured individuals to nearby hospitals for treatment. Sadly, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials stated that one vehicle was traveling north on Route 31 while the other was heading south when the collision occurred. The Kane County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once family members have been notified.
Members of the Carpentersville Police Department and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team responded to investigate the crash. Route 31 was closed for approximately six hours during the investigation.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of this tragic collision.
