Sometimes you just have to be blunt, and that was the case for one of our Personal Injury attorneys at Ankin Law in 2025.
It came during one of Maria Merman’s cases, one in which she had a personal connection, and one in which she didn’t mince words with the insurance company.
“I’ll see you in court,” is what Maria said to them.
This statement was made after insurance said they wouldn’t pay policy limits for her client Galina. She was someone who had one thing in common with Maria: Both were immigrants who came to America from the Soviet Union.
Recommended to Ankin Law by another client, Maria went to bat for Galina with the insurance company and eventually got her the result she deserved.
This is not an uncommon occurrence for Maria, one of the partners at Ankin Law, as numerous clients have sung her praises in our “Client Stories” through the years. A graduate of the University of Illinois and UIC Law, Maria has been with Ankin Law since 2019.
