Glencoe, IL (September 8, 2025) – A pedestrian tragically lost her life after being struck by a Metra train on Saturday morning, September 6, in north suburban Glencoe.

The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. near Green Bay and Maple Hill roads along the Union Pacific North Railroad line.
The victim, identified as 48-year-old Daniella Weisman, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Authorities ruled her death an accident.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Weisman crossed the railroad tracks heading west before the southbound Metra train passed through the crossing. Authorities also found a dog, which was killed in the incident.
Glencoe officials and the Cook County medical examiner’s office are continuing the investigation into the fatal accident.
