Marion County, IL (July 26, 2025) – Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say both drivers were injured in a crash at Levy and Bell Club Roads near Lake Centralia during the noon hour on Thursday.

Initial information indicates a vehicle driven by a 78-year-old woman was traveling southbound on Bell Club Road and before being involved in a collision along Levy with a car driven by a 45-year-old man. The impact knocked one of the vehicle backwards into the ditch and the other into a field of corn.
Both drivers were initially taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital by Lifestar Ambulance and then later airlifted to St. Louis hospitals. Though authorities have not released any other details about the crash, an inquiry is still ongoing.
