Chicago, IL (July 7, 2025) — Illinois State Police said there were major traffic impacts following a three-vehicle crash in Northbrook near Dundee Road on Monday afternoon, July 7.

State police said they were called to the scene in the southbound lanes of the Edens Expressway around 12:30 p.m. near milepost 30 at Dundee Road near Route 41. Police have not given details about what kinds of cars were involved in the crash or how many people were injured or killed. As of 5:00 p.m., a tow operator was taking away a car in the crash.
All southbound lanes of I-94 were closed at Dundee Road following the crash. The Dundee Road southbound ramp to I-94 and the southbound lanes of Lake Cook Road to I-94 were also closed. Details about what caused the crash, or how many vehicles were involved, were not immediately available. The roadway was temporarily closed as police investigated, but the inquiry is still ongoing.
