Attorney Maria Merman’s began on a different continent, thousands of miles away from the “Windy City.”
That was in Moscow, where she was born and raised for a time before circumstances forced a move to the United States. The Merman family settled in Chicago and it’s been their home ever since.
Outside of her undergraduate education studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Maria has centered her practice in her new home. A graduate of UIC Law, she practiced at a few places in Chicago before arriving at Ankin Law in February 2019.
Since then, Maria has become a big part of our Personal Injury department, helping many clients after they came to us after being injured. Recently she has risen to the level of Partner in our firm.
Many of the “Client Stories” that our posted on our website worked directly with Maria and attest to her talent and compassion in their cases. Odd to think that the law wasn’t even going to be her main area of study when she first went to college.
