Chicago, IL (June 7, 2025) – A late-night rollover crash on the Eisenhower Expressway (Interstate 290) claimed one life Saturday evening, June 7, according to the Illinois State Police.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-290 near Leavitt Street, just outside the Illinois Medical District. Investigators say the vehicle veered onto the shoulder and struck a curb, triggering a rollover.
A passenger in the vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. The driver escaped the crash without injuries.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. No additional details were available as of Sunday morning.
