Tazewell County, IL (April 22, 2025) – Illinois State Police troopers said a three-vehicle crash caused a two-mile traffic tie-up during the late afternoon commute on Tuesday, April 22, along eastbound Interstate 74 in Tazewell County.

The crash was reported about 4:40 p.m. near Pleasant Hill Road, near milepost 99, according to Illinois State Police. Troopers said the crash involved three vehicles, including a truck. State Police said traffic was backed up about two miles to about milepost 97, between the Pinecrest Drive and East Washington Street exits in East Peoria.

However, it’s unclear how many people were hurt; EMTs responded but did not confirm the total number of victim injuries. An investigation remains ongoing at this time, and further details will be released in the coming days.
