Chicago, IL (January 13, 2025) – According to the Illinois State Police, charges are now pending for a wrong-way driver who crashed into a downtown bus overnight on Monday.

That crash happened shortly after midnight near Dearborn and Jackson in the Loop. According to police, a Jeep driving the wrong way down a one-way street crashed into a CTA bus and a parked car, causing a traffic light to fall onto the street.
The CTA bus driver was taken to the hospital, while the man driving the Jeep and the woman in the passenger seat were also transported with unknown injuries. However, the cause of the crash is still under investigation, and no further details have been provided in the interim.
