Carrollton, IL (April 30, 2026) – A school bus crash on Wednesday afternoon, April 29, left 12 people hurt on Highway 67 just south of Northeast 400 Street, near Carrollton in Greene County. The accident happened shortly after 3:45 p.m. when a southbound vehicle crossed the center line into the path of the oncoming bus.

The North Greene school bus was traveling north when the other vehicle drifted into its lane on a curve. The bus driver steered onto the shoulder to try to avoid the crash. Despite the effort, the bus went off the road, struck a ditch, and rolled onto its side.
Eleven students and one staff member were taken to a nearby hospital. All 12 suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not released the names or ages of those hurt.
