Buffalo Grove, IL (October 23, 2024) – According to officers with the Buffalo Grove Police Department, An elderly man was killed by a car while walking along Buffalo Grove Road on Monday morning in the northwestern suburb.

The 87-year-old man was walking along the road around 8:00 a.m. when he was struck by a Toyota sedan near the Larraway Drive intersection. Paramedics took the man to Northwest Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 60-year-old woman who crashed the sedan was taken to the same hospital for precautionary measures. However, police said no charges or citations have been issued at this time; that said, detectives from the surrounding area are still conducting an investigation. Officers stated that more details on the incident will be shared with the public once they become available.
