More than 24,000 Imaginarium 5-Sided Activity Centers sold at Toys “R” Us have been recalled, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The Imaginarium activity sets were recalled because the small wooden knobs that attach the xylophone keys to the the activity set can detach, causing a choking hazard to young children.
Toys “R” Us has received eight reports of the knobs detaching, but there have been no reports of injuries or deaths to date.
The recalled Imaginarium activity set is a multi-sided activity center that features two triangle-shaped ends – one with a wooden multi-colored xylophone and one with a mirror. The three sides of the activity set are square-shaped and include moveable letters, rotating gears, and sliding shapes. The name “Imaginarium” appears in a blue, oval-shaped logo beneath the mirror on one end with a shooting star over the second “I” in the name.
The recalled product has a model number of 46284, which is printed on the back of the box; a Toys “R” Us item number of 295909; and a barcode number of 000799985462841. The model number, item number and barcode do not appear on the product itself.
The recalled Imaginarium activity sets were sold at Toys “R” Us stores throughout the United States and online at www.toysrus.com from August 2009 through September 2010. The activity sets retailed for approximately $25.
