My name is Brian White. I was born in Pomona, California and spent the majority of my childhood growing up in Ontario, California. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a love affair with the concept of business, sales, finance, and management. How can I work more efficiently? How can I work smarter not harder? As a kid, Monopoly was my favorite game. I have always known I wanted to be a businessman.
I would describe my academic and employment progress as very successful. I overcame a lot of diversity in my life. I have always been very organized, naturally optimistic, and self-motivated. My determination for self-improvement is out of this world.
I graduated from Chaffey High on June 15th, 2002. I played basketball, ran track and was part of the student body (ABS). I have always been very competitive. I like to win in everything that I do.
I attended Cal State University of San Bernardino in 2002. There I received a wealth of information and knowledge that have helped mold me into the person I am today. I studied business management while working two jobs. I also tutored students at Cajon High in San Bernardino part-time. I graduated from CSUSB in June 2006 and it was one of the happiest days of my life. I put so much time; energy and resources into accomplishing one of my long-time goals.
I started working for Enterprise Rent a Car as a manager trainee and learned valuable tools to help me run a successful business. I worked my way up to assistant manager of my branch in 3 years. In the back of my mind, I wanted to join the Navy. I have always envisioned myself joining the Navy to travel the world, meet new friends, and be part of the greatest Navy in the world. I have an incredible amount of respect for soldiers in all branches of the military. My mother was in the Army for over ten years and my uncle was a Marine for eight years. I was greatly influenced by both my uncle and my mother. They instilled great discipline, organization, and leadership within me at a young age. My mother always told me not to be a follower, but to become a leader and to own my results.
Studying for an MBA requires a certain determination and strength of character. A Master’s Degree will provide me with theoretical understanding, an in-depth idea of practical approaches in aiding managerial decision-making, and research skills to enable me to develop an expertise in the core areas of accounting, finance, marketing, and management.
With a strong quantitative skill set, familiarity with computer applications, and experience gained while working on various school projects when attaining my Master’s in Management, I have developed a sharp analytical ability and the confidence to tackle advanced problems on a macro or micro level. In addition, while serving in the US Navy, I developed good interpersonal skills, communication skills, and leadership skills.
