Porsha was raised in Chicago with the help of her grandparents, hardworking union members. Her family instilled in her the importance of integrity and honorable work which fostered her dream of becoming an attorney. A middle school teacher ignited her first aspirations of becoming an attorney through Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice. Porsha’s goal as an attorney is to ensure that injured individuals are treated fairly and not taken advantage of by large corporations.
Porsha comes to Ankin law with experience as both defense and plaintiff’s counsel in personal injury and employment law. As a defense attorney, Porsha observed firsthand the frustration of injured individuals confronting insurance companies and employers with the resources to thwart justice. That experience inspired Porsha to provide representation and justice to individuals facing the hardest times of their lives. After two years of defending employers and insurers, Porsha joined Ankin Law, representing individuals injured on the job.
Porsha earned her Bachelor of Arts from Bates College in American Cultural Studies and a minor in Dance. While in college, Porsha travelled to Romania, Spain, and Panama for coursework and volunteer opportunities. She earned her Master of Laws from Wake Forest University School of Law and her Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University Law School. Throughout law school, Porsha was a law clerk for an Indian personal injury attorney’s office. During that time, she was on Valparaiso’s Law Review as a Note writer, a teacher’s assistant, and a research assistant.
Outside of the office, Porsha enjoys her family, theater, volunteering with Lawyers in the Classroom, and traveling.
